Zocalo is an eclectic line of casual handcrafted furniture that fits easily into any décor. It is also an incredible value. With decorating trends continuing to run to casual, even in stately homes, there has been renewed interest in beautiful handcrafted furniture. Nothing else conveys the same sense of character, while adding so much warmth and coziness to a room.

It was with this sense of casual, elegant comfort that Zocalo was founded. Frustrated by a lack of furnishing choices at home and inspired by a recently purchased rustic armoire, founders Jeremy Sommer and Derry Conran traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico in search of inspiration. They found beauty in both the furniture and the town square or "zocalo" of Oaxaca. With a plan to source suppliers with rustic hardwood furniture and a great name for a home furnishings company, Derry and Jeremy returned home to create Zocalo in August 1995.

As resources grew and ideas abounded, we took what we had learned and began to design our own collections with great success, adapting traditional styles to meet the needs of the modern American lifestyle. Since 1995, our company's product line has expanded to include 14 hardwood furniture collections and a wide variety leather pieces. Every new collection that Zocalo creates is driven by the same goal we had on day one: to search for only beautiful furnishings that we would want in our own homes. Our goal for your customer's homes is the same as the goal for ours, to make them beautiful, elegant, and comfortable.
